Burt Reynolds, our hometown movie star, wants to believe. Believe that he could be in the new “X-Files” TV miniseries set to air in early 2016 on Fox.
Reynolds was at Wizard World Comic Con Chicago’s convention last weekend promoting his upcoming memoir when he was asked about the popular sci-fi show starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.
Reynolds once played God in the 13th season of the show in 2002, in an episode called “Improbable.” At the time, Duchovny was no longer a regular on the series, which then starred Anderson, Robert Patrick and Annabeth Gish.
“I don’t really remember too much about it,” Reynolds said in response to a fan’s question, according to comicbook.com. “I don’t know whether it was a time when I was imbibing and something, but I don’t remember it.”
Reynolds, who has appeared in recent years on the TV series “Burn Notice” and as himself on the animated series “Archer,” said he’d like to return to the “X Files.”
“I’d like to do it again if they still remember me.”
C’mon, Burt might have forgotten his episode, but who could forget Burt?
