“Spend Christmas with someone you hate”

This is the tagline of the latest Quentin Tarantino movie, “The Hateful Eight,” which will be debuting in theaters on Christmas Day, but even more importantly, it marks one of the biggest releases of a movie in 70mm in more than 20 years, Variety reports.

The Weinstein Company, who produced the film, announced a list of cities that would be hosting 70mm showings with West Palm Beach among them. Orlando, Boca Raton, Davie, Miami, Bonita Springs, Tampa, and Jacksonville are among the other Florida cities that are offering this feature. Tarantino and select cast members are also set to make surprise appearances at some of the showings across the country.

The film will be playing at the Muvico Parisian 20 and IMAX at City Place from Dec. 25 through 28 with tickets on sale now.

This is the largest release of a film in 70mm with recent releases such as “Interstellar” and “The Master” not commanding as many theaters as the upcoming western. 70mm has been used since the inception of cinema and is a wide high-resolution film gauge where each frame is five perforations tall with an aspect ratio of 2.20:1.

For more information, and ticket purchases, see the film’s website.
